The firm has a team of professionals who are experienced in dealing with elderly clients and their families and are able to advise and provide guidance in relation to Power of Attorney and Court of Protection work.
A Lasting Power of Attorney is a legal document which enables your chosen person to make decisions on your behalf whenever you are unable to do so. There are two types, Property and Affairs and Personal Welfare. We can assist with the preparation of the Power of Attorney documents which must be in prescribed form and submit for registration at the Office of the Public Guardian so that they can be utilized by your Attorney when required.
In the event that a family member has lost capacity and is no longer able to appoint an Attorney, we can advise the family in relation to making an application to the Court of Protection for an Order to appoint a Deputy to be responsible for the legal welfare of a loved one.
